Overview
The Victorian Emergency Management Institute (VEMI) was established in 2016 to enhance Victoria’s training capacity and to develop the emergency management capability of government agencies, departments, local government authorities, volunteer organisations, private sector organisations, critical infrastructure providers, water corporations, professional bodies and associations, and non-government organisations.
VEMI’s programs and activities provide the emergency management sector with greater opportunities to learn, acquire new skills and build capabilities in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies.
Our newly renovated accommodation wing of 52 rooms, the updated 75 seat theatre, flexible learning spaces, syndicate rooms and break out areas provide the capacity to accommodate a range of residential and daily events.
VEMI's purpose
Build leadership capability across the emergency management sector through innovation, inspiring current and future leaders of the emergency management sector.

Conference and events
Situated at the foothills of picturesque Mount Macedon and only 40 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, there are very few conference centres that match the beautiful surrounds of VEMI.
VEMI boasts full conferencing facilities for day guests or overnight stays. The newly refurbished conference rooms are suitable for small working groups or larger groups of up to 100 participants. Room and seating arrangements are versatile, and can be tailored to specific requirements.
For further information on conference and events, read the VEMI Mount Macedon Conference and Events brochure and menu.
