Grants and awards

Emergency Management Victoria manages several grants programs and awards on behalf of the State and Commonwealth Government.

Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program

The Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) is an annual grants program funded by the Victorian Government, which provides funding to Victorian emergency services volunteer groups to purchase essential operational equipment, vehicles and appliances and minor facility improvements.

Risk and Resilience Grants Program

The Risk and Resilience Grant Program is funded under the National Partnership Agreement on Natural Disaster Risk Reduction (NPA).

Resilient Australia Awards

The Resilient Australia Awards recognise and promote initiatives that build resilience and inspire others to take action – making communities safer, more connected and better prepared for natural hazards and emergencies.

The Disaster Ready Fund

The Disaster Ready Fund is an Australian Government disaster risk reduction initiative which funds a diverse set of large scale and long-term resilience projects in partnership with states and territories. Applications for Round Two are now closed.

Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants Program

The Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability Grants Program was a grants program that was funded in 2016-17 and 2018-19 by the Victorian Government to support the significant contribution of the more than 100,000 Victorian emergency management volunteers, through much needed investment to address urgent facilities, equipment and training needs.

Valuing Volunteers Program (VVP)

The VVP provides the opportunity for volunteers to identify ideas, initiatives and opportunities for innovation, that contribute to strengthening, encouraging and maintaining volunteerism in Victoria’s emergency management sector.
