VicEmergency website and app

The VicEmergency website (External link) and app provides Victorians with access to information and warnings about incidents including:

  • fires
  • storms
  • floods
  • earthquakes
  • tsunamis
  • shark sightings and more.

The VicEmergency website and app brings together data received from calls to Triple Zero (000) as well as emergency information from agencies and departments including:

  • Country Fire Authority
  • Department of Health
  • Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions
  • Fire Rescue Victoria
  • Forest Fire Management Victoria
  • Life Saving Victoria and
  • Victoria State Emergency Service

VicEmergency Hotline

The VicEmergency Hotline provides information during and after major incidents in Victoria. It also offers information to help householders, landowners and small businesses plan for and recover from emergencies.

Victorians can access the VicEmergency Hotline by calling 1800 226 226 (External link).

VicEmergency Hotline accessibility

People can receive warnings in a languages other than English by calling the Translating and Interpreting Service (External link) on 131 450 (External link) and requesting translated information from the VicEmergency Hotline.

People who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech impairment can receive warnings by contacting the VicEmergency Hotline through the National Relay Service (NRS) (External link):

TYY users can report a fire or emergency by accessing TTY 106.

TTY 106 is a dedicated text-based emergency relay service with direct access to fire, police and ambulance service. It can only be contacted through a TTY machine, not from a mobile phone or ordinary phone.
